GOODNIGHT,
I'LL SEE YOU IN THE MORNING
We heard a man tell this story.
He said in the town where he lived there was a business man
that was a Christian who loved the Lord.
One day he was struck by an automobile and carried to the hospital
and after an examination the doctor told him that he had only a few
hours to live.
His family was called to the bedside.
He had a wife and three children.
He looked up at his wife and said, "Honey, you've been
a good wife, and we've been happy together." He said,
"you've really helped me in my Christian life. Honey, I'm
going to leave you, but I'm not going to say good-bye.
I'm just going to say good-night, and I'll see you in the morning."
His oldest Son was standing by the bed, and he looked up at
him and said, "John, when you were born you really made your
Mother and me very happy. We prayed that God would give us
a little boy. But Son, when you were about ten years old,
the night that you knelt at the altar and gave your heart to God,
The night that you were born again, that's what made us really happy.
"And he said, "Son, I'm not going to say good-bye to you but I'll say
good-night, I'll see you in the morning."
His daughter was standing by the bed.
He said, "Mary, I want to tell you that I love you and appreciate you.
I'm glad that you're saved. Honey, Daddy's going to have to leave
you now but I'm not going to say good-bye. I'm just going to say
good-night, and I'll see you in the morning."
His youngest Son was standing by the bed.
And he looked over at him and said, good-bye Son."
The boy said, "what do you mean good-bye?
You told Mama and the rest of them good-night and you'd see
them in the morning."
He answered him, "I know Son, but I don't have any hope that
I'll see you in the morning. You're not saved.
We've prayed so much for you. I don't know why You're not a Christian,
but, I'll just have to say good-bye."
This broke the boy's heart and he fell beside his Daddy's bed.
He started crying and praying, "God have mercy on me a sinner,
and save me in Jesus' name. I want to meet Daddy again."
The man reached out with his last bit of strength, laid his hand on
his Son's head, and said, "Son, good-night, I'll see you in the morning."
